The brilliant Sola House, which is situated in the bustling neighbourhood of Sol in the heart of Madrid, was influenced by the vivid hues and glitzy design of the works of renowned Spanish film director Pedro Almodóvar.
The gon architects team painstakingly redesigned the 33sqm/355sqft apartment from the bottom up with the idea of consolidating all the services and utilities, including the bathroom, in a central blue lacquered chest-cabinet that connects both sides of the space and can be customised as needed.
The bathroom and bedroom share a glass window that transforms from transparent to opaque as needed for privacy. The bedroom is effectively hidden behind a mirrored door to the right of the entrance. Sola House is a genuinely modern and elegant interpretation of an inner city hideaway thanks to its striking colour palette and thoughtful design.
