The meanings of Metre range from the quantifiable (a unit of measure) to the perceptual (rhythm in poetry and music), a spectrum of content that is also embodied by architecture and design. Since its inception in January 2018, the firm has been on constant search for spatial patterns that renew our understandings of function and aesthetics, such as the design for Gradient Space which won several awards including an Honorable Mention in the Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA) Architectural Design Awards, the most prestigious award implemented by SIA to promote design excellence. This was also our first featured project on Never Too Small, and it made the list on Design Milk’s Top 10 Interior Design Posts of 2022.

Projects include a triplex bungalow in Dhaka, Bangladesh, where each level embodies a unique geometrical language, a semi-detached house in Singapore which instead of the ubiquitous courtyard chose to step away from the party wall to tap prevailing wind and daylight while creating a two-tiered private terrace at the same time, and an office space in the prime Somerset area of Singapore which won Silver Award in workspace design at the Singapore Interior Design Awards 2023.
